Jet ski's and Movies

On Saturday, the love of my life and I went to Idaho Falls to spend some quality time with my family. Except for they weren't really home. And they said we could take the jet ski's. So we decided to cut our loses and take the jet ski's out for an afternoon of fun!

My parents own 2 three-seater jet ski's that are honestly a blast! Mitch and I invited his mother and the siblings that were home at the time to come with us, and we took my little brother, Henry, of course!
He absolutely loves the jet skis; so much that it would almost be a crime to not take him. In fact, if we had left him at home, I'm pretty sure he would have tried to chase us down and then demanded that we let him in the car.
He was so excited that as we were driving he kept looking out the back window to make sure that the jet skis were still there.
Mitch's mother, sister Ashlynn, and brother Tyrell also joined us for our little jet skiing excursion. None of them had ever been before and I was excitedly predicting how they would react during the car ride. I totally thought that Ashlynn would be just like Henry and literally attach herself to the jet ski like an octopus, not wanting to ever get off the thing. I thought Tyrell would really enjoy it, but I thought that Linda, my mother-in-law would absolutely be terrified for some reason (maybe because my mother, Adella, is absolutely horrified every time she gets on a jet ski with me - I'm a speed demon). To my absolute surprise, Ashlynn was absolutely terrified thinking that she was going to sink and didn't care to get on the jet skis after only a few minutes of being in the water. Linda absolutely LOVED the thing! She even kicked off her own kids so that she could go on a ride by herself! Now that's parenting (;
I mentioned to her that she might not like jet skiing after she had ridden with me, but who knows! Henry absolutely loved to ride with me because I went FAST. I'm talking FAST, not like "Oh, 'fast' because there is a child onboard." I mean fast as in grown men cry at such speeds FAST. She was up for the challenge and within a few seconds I had accidentally thrown her off of the jet ski and in to the water.
"Making your Mother-in-Law hate you FAST."
We stayed on the water until about 5:00 when our stomachs finally caught up with us. We were all famished and Mitch and I had a Demolition Derby to get to - Rednecking always comes first. We hurried and docked the jet skis, got them all loaded, and then sped home to make quick sandwiches before heading back to Rexburg for the Derby.

Mitch and I rushed to the Demo Derby only to find out that they had completely SOLD OUT! I guess this is Idaho, but I was frustrated! Our friend Jared was participating in the half-time show and this meant that not even his wife could watch him compete on the motorbikes during the barrel racing.
We glumly left the Derby parking lot and headed for home, hoping that we would be able to go to the next one and see Jared compete some other time.
Jared got 3rd place by the way. He rode a KX 500 and did barrel racing in the mud. Not smart, but funny!

After the disappointment of not being able to go to the Derby, we decided with our friend Jared and his wife Katelyn that we would go to the Drive-In! Monsters University, which was super adorable, and Lone Ranger were playing for $6.50 a ticket! Perfect way to spend the night! We packed up all of our wonderful blankets and loaded the bed of our truck with a futon mattress, couch cushions, and pillows, and then set off! The Lone Ranger played too late and I slept through it, however I would recommend going and seeing Monsters University! It was really adorable and actually a good sequel!
