So... Let's get real here. This boy is almost 5 months old. I'm just now taking his 4 month pictures. Maybe one day, when I'm retired, I'll be on top of my stuff. However today (and quite possibly the next 20 years) is not that day!
Zane is seriously making leaps and bounds. He has started to inchworm, eat rice cereal, and sit up. While he is not perfect at any of those, he is so proud of himself whenever he does them! I mean there are some serious baby grins goin' on around this place. He can sit up for about 20-30 seconds without assistance and when eating rice cereal, he probably swallows one whole bite out of every five that is forcefully pushed out of his mouth by his cautious little tongue. Real progress, ladies and gents.
I can't wait to see where the next month takes us because I think we are going to have a crawlin, toothin baby in no time!

As if I needed any more reasons to be proud of my husband! But this Veteran's Day reminded me of just how proud of my sweetheart I am. Too proud to put into words. Too in love to put into words.
These pictures were taken in February when my husband was promoted to Sergeant. We brought my brother, Henry along. We all got to tour the inside of a Howitzer and Henry thought it was the coolest, scariest thing ever. He brought Woody to keep him safe though, so all was well.
This year's Military Ball was amazing. I was extremely hesitant to go because I was just being... weird: I hadn't lost all of my baby weight, none of the dress stores I went to had anything close to my size, and I felt like a big old milk makin' machine. So the struggle was definitely real.
But I am so glad I went. I forgot how much I love the beautiful people in the top photo. I forgot that baby weight doesn't matter and that no one would care anyway. I love these people and the wonderful times we have together! My only wish was that the military ball had better food haha! Maybe there's a reason that baby weight is lingering...
I'm not going to lie. Halloween is 6,092,340,129 times better with a baby! Not only did we get to trick or treat (and we scored some pretty good candy) but we got to enjoy thinking up a Halloween group costume. Okay, well I got to enjoy doing that. It was so much fun scouring the D.I trying to find the pieces to make up this set.
The D.I is my go-to Halloween store! I'm pretty sure that place was created by the thrift gods who knew that I would be a total freak about Halloween (:
Zane got all sorts of candy... okay, okay... I got all sorts of candy, but he doesn't have to know that! We did let him lick a few different flavored dumdums and Great-Grandpa let him suck on a smartie. I'm pretty sure dad sneaked in some chocolate but the world may never know.
Here are just a few pictures from our night!
I made this wig using yarn and I am pretty dang proud of how it turned out.
We finished off the night by making caramel apples and watching movies! I'm pretty sure this Halloween was the greatest ever because we not only shared it with our new little family, but our brother Tyrell was here. Everything honestly just felt perfect.
Happy Halloween!
