Over the past two weeks, I've been having this huge inner struggle; I want to be done with college and move on, and start a family, and buy a house, and get a job, OR at least get a stinking puppy! The past two weeks, all I've heard is, "Oh, we're graduating" or "We are expecting!" or "We just had our baby" and it is just reminding me how much work there still is to do here in Rexburg before I feel like I can really move on with my life.
There is nothing worse than feeling stuck. I have been religiously on pinterest looking at the Home Decor pins. I've been jealously looking at the millions of baby pictures posted on Facebook every day. I've been woefully eyeing my grad plan and realizing just how much more there is to do. It's a pretty crap feeling.
However, today marks the end of Week One, Semester 4, and I have loved every minute of it! There is something so revitalizing about the start of a new semester. Maybe it's the fact that I can have all of my homework for the week done on Tuesday and just coast the rest of the week.
I also started my absolute favorite class this week. I'm taking a class that allows me to go into schools twice a week for an hour and a half each, and teach students! I'm teaching at this tiny little school that has 100 students, 7 staff, and the principal is part-time! I'm helping teach a 5th grade class, but I wasn't able to on Thursday because they were testing. Instead, I got to help little 1st graders learn how to read. They were so precious! I loved every minute of it. It was so wonderful and solidified my want to teach. It was the best experience ever! This week, I finally feel like I'm where I need to be.
On an even better note, I qualify for Fast Grad at BYU-I. This means that instead of taking two semesters a year, I can take three and graduate even faster! Mitch and I are still deciding if that is the right move for us, but I am more than positive it is what we will end up doing. I'll be able to graduate an entire year and a half earlier than anticipated! If that is the route we take though, we will have to leave our management job, and we will lose a lot of the financial security we have been blessed with. We will have to take on rental payments, utility payments, and then the added costs for another semester a year. When Mitch is in school, there is no way, no how that he will be able to hold a job. The most I'd be able to take on would be part time. So we are kind of in a bind, but we'll manage, I think.
