Zane is 18 months old and he is a wild child through and through. His favorite activities recently include: growling, making animal noises, throwing things, and playing outside.
He has taken on a real fondness to horses because Mitch's parents have a few and he has gotten to go outside and feed them apples. So now, you cannot mention horses without Zane also saying, "Apples!!!" and wanting to rush to go outside.
His favorite place is outdoors and even though it is frigid here in Idaho Falls, Zane wants to be outside as often as physically possible, much to my dismay. He still loves to eat snow and will pick it up from anywhere he can get it, including off of shoes, his coat, and random reachable places. He doesn't really care to play outside yet. He more or less enjoys having a mission and fulfilling it, such as finding snow to eat, feeding a horse, and running away from mama when she says it is time to go inside.
Arguably, Zane's favorite thing to do while indoors is to take baths. For Christmas, he received a ton of bath toys and he thinks it is so fun to dump water into cups, play with his bath crayons, and wash his own tummy with his soap. At the mention of the word bath, he rushes to the bathroom and starts to pull off all of his clothes to the best of his ability. Then, he tries to climb into the tub, still mostly clothed. If only we all had that much joy in the simple things!
Zane has recently taken up dancing by banging his head, swaying side to side, and waving his arms in the air. He loves to dance and dances to almost everything. He has also started to sing, basically by just moving his mouth whenever a song comes on, as if he is terribly lip-synching. It is adorable - he'll definitely be on Jimmy Fallon one day.
Nursery has been the greatest Christmas gift we could have received. Zane seriously adores it. Last week, I walked past the nursery room and the leader had turned one of the tables into a slide and Zane was being absolutely adorable and evil, pushing his way to the front of the line, using his hefty size to climb onto the table before others could. It was terrible but wonderful all at the same time - I"m so glad he enjoys nursery. It has been such a relief for us. Did you mean to tell me that they actually teach you stuff on Sundays?! What?!
Overall, Zane has been such a joy and an adventure. I can't believe he is already a year and a half!

Also, a large and deep apology to Zane, who did not get official 18 month photos this month. I've started teaching 4th grade and I have been exhausted to the max getting everything up and running. Zaney, looks like you might need to get used to some tradition breaking because I know this isn't going to happen just once and I am sorry. You probably don't care though. You are usually a fart when we take pictures (:
At least, that is what I keep telling myself so that I feel better about it.
