Zane's First Movie

About a year ago, Mitch decided to take me to see Jurassic World in theaters because Zane still hadn't made his appearance and it was my due date. We went to the theaters and I secretly wished the entire time that I would be scared into labor. Mitch and I have a system where I go in and get seats, while he goes and gets popcorn. I sat my little blubber body down in a seat and soon a woman and her husband sat down beside me. She turned to me and seeing my belly literally eclipse my face, she asked, "Oh my goodness! When are you due?!" Contorting my body so that I could look at her, I replied, "Today. We may be having a scene if I get too scared, and I am not sorry one bit." She looked around to see my sitting by myself, and then grabbed my hand and said something to the effect of, "Honey, if you feel your water break, you let me know and we will take care of you."

It's fun torturing strangers for a short while. Then Mitch came and sat down beside me and all was well. Except for the fact that I didn't go into labor. 

Flash forward to this year, I took Zane to the exact same movie theater. Literally, the exact same theater, screen and all. They do a $1 a ticket kids movie during the day so we went with some friends. It was nostalgic and fun. Zane loved to crawl around on the popcorn infested floors and I totally let him (mom win!). He was quiet for the entire movie and it was interesting to see which parts of the movie he had the patience to sit through. 

I love getting to spend this time with him and partake in all of his firsts, all of his joys and excitement. It is like I'm re-experiencing over for the first time. Just wait until we pull out the tangible Harry Potter books guys, cause I'll literally die if it is as amazing as what I am thinking it will be seeing it through fresh eyes. 

Afterward, we braved Costco, where Zane obviously thought it was ridiculous that you could purchase bath robes and liquor within 10 feet of each other. 

What a full day!
