This May or May Have Not Been the Inspiration for Peter Pan's Mermaid Lagoon

This Wednesday, the Kilpatricks took us to a gem of a swimming hole. Apparently our appetites had not yet been satisfied from our weekend at Blue Lake and we needed some more swimming and cliff jumping in our lives. 

This is the lower falls at Wallace Falls in Gold Bar. I'm seriously in love with the fact that all of these places have been within an hour of where we live. We could go on a different hike or swim in a different river, lake, or stream every day this summer if we were really wanting to. It's been perfect for our adrenaline junkie lifestyle to just pick up and go every once in a while. 

The waterfall was gorgeous and had this deep pool that you could dive into without touching the bottom. The water was freezing at first, the kind of freezing where when you get out of the water you feel like you've entered a very warm bath, but the hike back to the car kept us warm. Zane loved playing in all of the pools and puddles while we took videos of each other jumping. If it wasn't so cold, I could have stayed there all day.
