I've Done it Again!

12:23:00 AM

It's a very, incredibly, completely, wholly lucky thing I married the guy that I did. He puts up with so many unfathomable things that I feel sorry for him sometimes! Unfortunately, this weekend I wasn't all that sorry!

Mitch and I painted another part of our house! On Thanksgiving morning we painted our kitchen, and now just 3 days after Christmas, we've painted our living room/hallway.

First things first, my husband and I are not hoarders. Our home "before" shots do not really do us justice as being cleanly human beings... Plus excuse the huge mess. we literally just threw everything into the middle of the room. New Christmas presents? Throw them on the couch. Clothes on the floor? Don't bother putting those in the bedroom or hamper, throw them on the desk! You get the point.

Before:

We are working with a lot of walls here. A ton of space that otherwise was white and very dirty. It was like the last people who lived here just let their kids hammer nails into the walls all day and/or rub their spaghetti-o fingers over everything. It didn't help that the walls were super shiny white, either.

The evil eyes of "Don't take my picture!"

Until he realized I was using my new camera! The primer had a really yellow undertone. I swear we aren't painting our house mustard yellow!!!

After:

Look at that booty! He doesn't know I have this picture haha!

Baseboard before and after. For me, this was the most disgusting part to see. I've vowed to always dust my baseboards after this painting experience!

The finished hallway. It looks so much cozier with the tan paint. The bare white made it seem like a retirement home with all of the doors.

All done! After a painfully long weekend of non-stop painting, we had finally finished and rearranged our house into a somewhat liveable area.

My craft room, on the other hand, is a completely different story...

Maybe I do need to go on the show Hoarder's for all of my craft items. I still have some of my original Kindergarten crayons in there... somewhere. Once I get this room cleaned out, we'll paint in there next. Maybe over a birthday weekend at the rate we are going!

Mitch was on a roll getting things done. He also repaired our sink, made jalapeno poppers, fixed our coffee table, AND installed my feature wall! I married a good man!

Our finished picture wall:

Let's hope I keep sane! Actually... let's hope Mitch stays sane!!!
