Our Engagement Story from Mitch's Perspective

Alex asked me to write about the time that I proposed to her, so here it is. I didn't want to do one of those public proposals or anything of the sort, and I wanted her to love it and be unique to her. Alex really likes legos and she also likes Lord of the Rings, so one day it just came to me. I was going to prose with a lord of the ring lego set that she really wanted and I would have Frodo hold the ring.

So the day before I went to Boise with Mike and Adella and went to a friend of Mikes who is a jewelry dealer. In the mean time I told Alex that I was going to be working on the farm all day and she wouldn't hear from me (which was a pretty normal thing). I did forget my phone though so I had to call Ciara on Mikes phone and have Ciara tell Alex that I lost my phone in the field. When we got back to Idaho Falls I casually walked into her house about 20 minutes after her parents got back, and she didn't know we had made a 10 hour trip that day.

The next day I did the proposal. I couldn't hold on to that ring any longer, I had to give it away. I went to "hang out" with Jared Daniels but we actually went and bought the Helms Deep lego set and a small set with Frodo and we built them. Then we hid them and I went to see Alex finally in the afternoon sometime. Alex and I went back to hang out with Jared and Katelyn and we watched a movie together. A few minutes into the movie though Jared told me "he needed to talk to me about something" so we left quickly and drove to set up the legos in Alex's basement. I asked Ciara and Abbi to hide with a camera and they were kind enough to do so. Then Jared and I raced back to Katelyn's house and I picked up Alex (who was sound asleep) and we drove back home. She had lots of questions about where I just went with Jared, but I kinda shrugged them off because in a few minutes she would know why.

We got to her house and out on the front porch was the small lego set but Frodo was missing. I told her that I got it for her, and that she needed to find the Frodo. Eventually she found her way downstairs and saw the huge lego set. She went to check it out excitedly but then found Frodo holding her "one ring" and she began to cry and then I got down on one knee and asked her to be my eternal companion. She said lots of yes's and was so happy. So then we went and told Mike and Adella whom she was surprised to find out already knew, and then we went to my parents house and told them. 4 1/2 months later we got married!
