Zane's Second Birthday!

From the instant he woke up, Zane knew today was his special day. My sweet little man is two years old and growing up so fast! Has it really been two years already since he popped out into the world? Is this real life!? 

To celebrate his special day, Zane woke up to donuts, one of his favorite treats, and then we spent the whole day playing with bubbles, swimming, and snacking - all of which are the ways to Zane's heart. The day passed by in what felt like a blur of sunscreen and pizza. 

We got to spend Zane's birthday at my mom's house, so Zane got to see his cousins and spend time with them, another special treat. Unfortunately, Mitch missed Zane's birthday again this year with his military training, so Zane carried around a little G.I. Joe toy and kept calling it "Daddy Guy". The poor guy misses his dad so much when he is gone. To have Mitch included as much as possible, we facetimed him while Zane blew out his candle and ate his cupcake. It was bittersweet to hear Zane talk with Mitch while he enjoyed his birthday treats. Mitch was shocked to hear that in just the short time that he had been gone, Zane had become even better at talking in complete sentences. Poor guy misses his little boy as much as he misses him. 

Zane, my sweet, little firecracker, I love you. You are so wonderful in so many ways. You make me feel so fulfilled and blessed. I can't believe you are all ours and have been for two wonderful years.

Own a bubble machine and Zane will instantly become your best friend. Own many, many bottles of bubble liquid and Zane will also never leave your house.
