Step Aside, Martha Stewart

I've had the week off of school for Spud Harvest (kids in Idaho get a week off of school to go pick potatoes and make crazy amounts of money) and I've been more productive than I've been in months. Seriously, I have been getting my craft on and it is nothing short of amazing. I've perfected the Halloween decor over the mantle, and might I just brag for a second: It. Is. Amazing.
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. There is just something so magical about seeing everyone dressed up and happy, well with exception to the clowns. I love that Halloween marks the beginning of the festivities and that now we start bringing out the mixer and making our first of many batches of sugar cookies. I love the idea of scouring the stores for a perfect Halloween costume, and excitedly preparing to go out and see what everyone else came up with! I love knowing that this is the start to many more festivities, to seeing more family, and to always have something to look forward to and be happy about.
So, call me crazy, but Halloween is my favorite holiday. This year it is going to be even better than ever because I will have my small minion to enjoy it with.
To get ready for three months of festivities and excitement, I present you what I've crafted! I've got to thank the Dollar Store and the D.I. They are the real MVP's when it comes to holidays for me. Sure, you slaved away over that turkey for 15 hours, but the D.I had these fake black flowers for 25 cents a piece, and I would take a bargain over turkey any day of the year. If the D.I and Value Village had Black Friday sales, you know I would be the first person in line.
And just like that, I've created my own version of heaven. If you would like to join me there, hit me up when we're dead and whatnot.
ANYWAY! Here are the crafts I've made/decor I've set up to begin the season!
Nothing like the Family Proclamation right next to a skull. I asked my husband if it was sacrilegious. He wasn't quite sure.
I made these cute decor blocks last season. They've got Halloween in the front, Christmas in the back. Sort of like a mullet, but better. And timeless.
And just like that, the house is festive enough for us to all know it is Halloween, but not overly done to seem like we've got some sort of obsession. Just how we like 'em. As I craft some more, I will definitely shamelessly plug my beautiful, creative spirit here on the blog!
Happy Halloween!
