Leaf it to Zane to Try and Eat a Pumpkin Whole

4:34:00 PM

Master Zane is trying to soak up every last second of the warm weather outside. I've been surprised that it hasn't snowed yet and that we are still having warm weather! I've seen people in flipflops and shorts this week, people. Last year at this time, we were all wearing parkas and snow boots. So let's all take a moment to count our blessings and say a few prayers for more warm weather.

I took Zane and Della out to play in the yard and rake up the leaves. Apparently there is nothing more tempting than a bunch of leaves piled together. One or two leaves on the ground? Boring. Thousands of leaves in a pile? The best thing since Christmas.

There's nothing sweeter than raking up leaves over and over again so that these little cuties can jump into them, throw them in the air, and even try taking a bite - all to their little heart's desires. I'll gladly do it over and over again until they run out of breath from laughing.

Zane found a pumpkin that we had decorated with and decided it would be the perfect afternoon snack. Fortunately, his little teeth couldn't do much damage (for once) so our pumpkin was left unharmed, despite many attempts.

Oh if I could be done student teaching and spend every moment playing with these little guys while they are so young and innocent! For now I'll have to be satisfied with the far and few between moments. December, come faster!!!

Also, having our own yard, our own leaves to rake up, and our own chickens has been so dreamy! I love non-apartment living!

Thanks for stopping by!
