Heather Lake Hike

Zane and his future wife, Sadie.

I've been blessed to have amazing people in my life. I've been equally blessed that these amazing people are willing to go and do adventurous things and think to bring me along!

Yesterday, Zane and I went hiking with a few of our favorite ladies here in Washington. It is honestly gorgeous in Washington. I feel like there is a new beautiful sight to see every single day that I'm here. Sometimes, it feels like I'm wasting time sitting around the house or going to the gym when I could go on a new trail or swim in a different river every day.

Zane loved riding in the backpack, but more specifically he loved being able to see everything all the while pulling my hair like I was his very own show pony. We started out rough when Z had an allergic reaction to sunscreen (I was trying to be a good mom), but he quickly got over it and was singing and babbling for most of the hike. And I particularly loved this hike because my glutes are gonna be lookin' good, I'll tell ya.

All glutes aside, even though I wasn't raised going on hikes on a random Wednesday, I loved it! I felt like I was dying for half of it, but man did I love the feeling when I got to the end and saw the beautiful little valley we were sitting in. What a beautiful creation we have the opportunity to partake in. Sights like these, and the opportunity to be with my son, just tell me that there is a God. I can feel him in every tree perfectly formed, every rock, root, and shrub. There was a masterful plan in all of it that was meant for our happiness, marvel, and use. So while the world is going crazy, I got to enjoy  my sweet little boy and think about all of the beauty within my own little slice of heaven.

When in doubt, go on a hike!

Thanks for stopping by!
