Goodbye First Home!!!

Today, my sweetheart and I said goodbye to the first home we ever lived in together. It was really bittersweet, but to be honest, I'm glad we are moving on in life. We've enjoyed all of the wonderful people that we've gotten to know through our job at Draper Oaks, but we've also had our fill.

Managing an apartment complex sounds like the dream job when you are a broke, starving college student, but a lot of the actual proceedings of managing are very taxing and difficult to deal with, especially when anyone can come knock on your back door at any minute of the day (most often when you are butt naked about to get in the shower). I'm grateful for the experiences we've shared together here because they've truly brought us together as a couple, but some of them just plain sucked.

I will not miss painting until 3:00 in the morning, only to be woken up at 6:00 am by someone who locked themselves out of their apartment. I will not miss having to deal with crazy tenants who believe they are entitled to whatever they can dream up. I will not miss shoveling snow for an entire apartment complex either!

I will, however, miss our cute first home, the memories that we shared there, the people that we met, and the excitement of having our own place to build up together as a family.

Here are some pictures, mostly for my memory of the place. Walking out of that door for the last time was both relieving and saddening all in one.
