You can call me the Elementary School Queen, please and thank you.
I've been doing projects left and right for my kiddos and to prepare to be a teacher. It's been amazing! I'm loving some of my classes semester!
Here are some of the things I have done;
1. Dressed up like the Paper Bag Princess
2. Rocked pretending to be the Paper Bag Princess
3. Gave my very own lesson to 5th graders
4. Rocked giving a lesson to 5th graders
5. Found a new appreciation for abbreviations
6. Created an Abraham Lincoln craft and gave a mini lesson on him (picture on left, but I had my students write a small essay and present it wearing their masks)
7. Rocked my craft. Rocked my mini lesson
8. Gave a presentation on Mt. Vesuvius and it's devastating eruption that entombed Pompeii
9. Rocked said presentation
10. Got a 100% on a midterm that I had no clue was happening and didn't study for (the class average was 65%)
You could say life is good right now!
But sadly, the school year is over and my sweet little students moved on to summer and 6th grade. I think that will be the hardest part of being a teacher, especially since I was a wreck having to say goodbye to the students that came up to me for hugs. I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach my 15 patient students. They were so loving, so caring, and so smart! Every single one of them put in so much effort and I am extremely humbled by the opportunity I have to teach in the future. I am also so grateful for my even more patient Cooperating Teacher, who offered to be my Sr. Teacher when I do my student teaching. She said that the second I find out I can put in an application to student teach I had better send one her way because she would accept it in a heartbeat. She is a SAINT!
Here is a video of my cute students at their talent show signing and singing to a song that makes my heart crumble! They are just so adorable and it's as if they chose the saddest song for the end of the year talent show. I'm pretty sure
Thankfully, Summer School starts next week so I will have a fresh batch of students that I can work with to continue towards my degree. I've also applied to be a tutor for elementary school students so that I can spend my free nights continuing to progress.
I'm so in love with what I am doing right now that it is insane! Let's hope summer school is just as amazing as the past few months have been!
