20 Week Update
Aka: the it's fun now that I am not pukey and actually showing! update.

These past 20 weeks have been nothing short of marvelous. There is something so edifying about being pregnant - maybe I'm just saying that because I've seriously had one of the easiest pregnancies I've ever heard of (knock on wood), but I have loved being pregnant. Except that one time I threw up so hard I peed my pants.

Yeah... Anyway, now that I am actually showing and random strangers are finally coming up to me and asking if I am pregnant, I feel like I am on top of the world! Seriously, nothing feels better than lapping people on the running track with your big old bump and booty. It's like "I am Mama, eat my dust!" and I seriously love it. I feel like I have the strength of a grown woman and an infant child.

One of my favorite parts of being pregnant so far is just watching my husband experience it all. He was such a trooper for those two weeks that I was sick and had some health issues. He has become even more of a trooper now that I am in the clear and still begging him to get up in the middle of the night to get me some toast (I could eat toast all day, every day). Mitch is going to be the greatest daddy. He is so jealous that he can't feel this little stinker's kicks yet and will sit there for 20 minutes just holding his breath and, with a firm hold on my stomach, try to get the stinker to kick. Each week when we hit a new milestone, like our baby being the size of a "Roman Tomato," Mitch just looks absolutely shocked and in awe that I actually have a little thing in me! I've caught him up researching the different phases of pregnancy and what exactly is happening in my growing tummy. It's the sweetest, really. It makes me so excited for him to be a daddy.

Here are my top 10 recent highlights of the pregnancy (mainly because I couldn't think of 11):

1. Despite peeing my pants earlier, I have, in fact, sneezed 5 times in a row and not a single drop. Best feeling in the world.
2. Baby had his first lock down the other day! It was just a practice but very thrilling!
3. Baby heard from an apostle in person for the first time on Tuesday of this week. I'm sure he heard every word about our potential. Baby scholar.
4. My rings still fit! In fact, one can still swirl like a globe around my finger during the day.
5. I've only gained 2 whole pounds! Part of me is thinking, "Is this a trap?" The other part of me is thinking that taking a P.E. class this semester is the best decision I have ever made.
6. I am taking 23 credits this semester and I am positively on top of my work! However, I have taken up the habit of sleeping about ten hours a night before I can truly feel like a regular human being again. I like to justify that by saying I am "sleeping for two..."
7. Henry, my brother, has started to recognize that I am getting "fat" as he likes to call it. He will come up and randomly touch or smell my belly (he is autistic), and then he will say, "Are you ready for the nurse to cut your belly-button up and be in pain?" Keeping me grounded, that boy is.
8. I have not had a single craving, but I have had my first pregnancy pickle, and that was absolutely delicious. You can't appreciate a pickle until you are scrounging it in the middle of the night like a thief, clad in a purple bath robe, hiding behind the fridge door like Sasquatch and munching merrily away. Pickles are truly God's Manna for pregnant women everywhere.
9. Mitch and I have been so lucky to have amazing people in our lives that have already started spoiling this baby rotten. We've been so grateful for each and every item that we have received!
10. I have already sewn a baby blanket. It is, without a doubt, the most comfortable baby blanket in the world. I've snuck it onto the bed a few times when it has been really cold, and let me tell you, that stinker is going to be the cause for divorce the way Mitch and I fight each other for it in our sleep!

Thanks for stopping by!
