The Holts

1:28:00 PM

Mitch and I were married on December 8th, 2012 in the Idaho Falls Temple! We had been set up by our younger sisters, "The Match-Makers," on a blind date just a few weeks after Mitch returned from his LDS mission to the Navajo Nation.

For our first date, we went to Orange Leaf for frozen yogurt and ended up laughing way more than eating.

On our second date, we ate Chinese at this fabulous restaurant and stayed there for a good 4 hours talking.

On our third "date" all of the siblings in his family and my siblings had a giant scooter race in the neighborhood. I'm pretty sure that by the end of the day, all of the kids from the surrounding houses had also joined in.

And our dates continued on like this - we were inseparable - laughing, playing, and just having a good time. Practically every day we did something fun and adventurous until August, when my sweetheart proposed (but that is a story for a later date!).

Even though we are married and in Rexburg where there is practically NOTHING to do, we still find the time to enjoy our many great adventures!

I married a Mountain Man for sure; in the past year I have started dirt-biking, snow mobiling, riding horses, doing farm work, hunting, shooting guns. It's become more of a 'name a redneck activity, and I've probably done it' sort of lifestyle! But I must admit, I've had the greatest time.

Mitch and I love to listen to audio books together, cook for each other, and do whatever crazy, adrenaline pumping things are available in po-dunk Rexburg.

We are also Managers for an apartment complex here in Rexburg, which has turned out to be quite the job. In Rexburg, there are separate complexes for single students and married students. Mitch and I happen to be managers of a married complex. We are in charge of 38 units, and have about 90 people living in our apartment, including children. It has been the greatest blessing of our young, married lives and we hope to continue with this job for our entire "Rexburg Career."
Mitchell is studying to become a Mechanical Engineer while I am declaring my major next semester in Elementary Education. We still have a number of years left until we graduate, but we are hoping to make the best of it!
Mitchell is in the Army National Guard and has been since he was 17. He is in Artillery and completed Air Assault School - so essentially Black Hawk Down kind of stuff! (He would like me to add "BA kind of stuff, you mean?") He loves it and would probably do all of this and more for free. If he had the time and the money, he would go to Ranger School.
I, on the other hand, love to craft and try new things, such as his redneck agenda. I absolutely love to read and would love any book recommendations you have. I am in the process of becoming a "Susie Homemaker" so any recipes, ideas, whatever, I'm up for the challenge!
We are the Holt's! Newly wed, in our first semester of college, and loving every minute of it!

Thanks for stopping by!
