New Year, New Troy: 5 Months Old
5:18:00 PMThis little munchkin is 5 months old and rocking it. He is starting to posture to crawl, getting so drooley we have teeth coming around the corner, and starting to eat and want real food. He is able to feed himself finger foods and it is hilarious to watch him greedily snatch a yogurt drop and try to get it into his mouth as quickly as possible. There is no hesitating when it comes to food for this sweet little boy. He wants all of the food. All of it. As quickly as humanly possible for a 5 month old.
He has started to turn himself around while laying down and find toys more quickly. Before, he was content to be handed a toy, but that phase is now over and he wants to actively seek out toys. His old toys are no longer good enough when there is a world of possibility in front of him. Zane does not appreciate this new development in the slightest.
Troy sits in a high chair now with our family while we eat dinner. He loves eating and does really well eating off of a spoon. He caught on much quicker than we were anticipating and he can eat an entire squeezy pouch in one sitting without getting too messy. Troy likes to snatch things off of the table and try to eat those as well. He loves finding food everywhere.
We've definitely entered the "everything goes in my mouth" phase of babyhood which is thrilling but also very terrifying when I teach public education. I see too many sneezes and coughs in a regular school day to be exactly thrilled about my child sucking on whatever he can. The other day, he magically found a pencil and I could only imagine what that pencil has seen...
My Troy Boy is very happy to snuggle still and doesn't seem like he is going to give up nursing soon, but he also wants to know what every single noise is and what caused it, which makes nursing difficult. He whips his head around as fast as he can to catch every single noise. The boy has already gotten a face-full of milk from this, but he keeps trying it, so we will see how long he nurses for. This was the point where Zane stopped nursing.
I love this squishy little being! The back rolls, they just get me.
