It's a 2015 Baby!

Happy 2015! I am so excited to welcome in the New Year with this adorable little baby bump of mine! I am officially 16 weeks and counting!

Because it is the New Year, I decided to make a list of a few goals I want to be better at keeping this year. Without further ado,

1. I want to be more frugal. This year, I want to spend less, think about spending less, and actually spend less! It is crazy to look back on your bank account over the past year and realize how much of it went to absolute junk rather than necessities (do it, I dare you. You will totally want to cry)! As starving college students, you think we would have figured it out: eating at McDonalds regularly is a no-no. Buying crafting supplies is a no-no. Buying things we never needed is a no-no.

2. I want to further my education. I added this one because of my sweet little baby that is coming. I am making it my goal to take a healthy maternity leave but to also end up back in classes once the little stinker is here. I am so close to finishing, there is no way on Earth that I am giving up now! I just need to keep myself motivated when the going gets tough, so I am holding myself accountable now. If I could sit through a 2 hour long class with morning sickness, I can do anything (new mantra of 2015?).

3. I want to be better at showing my husband how much I appreciate him. There is nothing like cleaning up after your wife's latest puking endeavor to make you need some extra lovin', and my husband definitely deserves everything I've got planned for him! I want to be better at showing how grateful I am that he has cleaned up my unmentionables many, many times throughout the first trimester. Heaven forbid he finds out that the after-math of pregnancy is even worse...

4. I want to become a prepared mother. I am 100% of the notion that most of parenting is just inherent. With this goal, I am actually hoping to accomplish smaller goals such as making preemptive choices with my husband about how we are going to parent and what we are going to do; how will we nurture and not spoil, essentially. I am not going to be the mom that creates Olaf-shaped cookies for lunch, I'm just not. But I will be the mother that reads every single night to my sweet little thing.

5. I want to remain healthy! Lastly, I want to remain at a healthy weight. I know many girls my age that should be in their prime but have struggled with their body and their self-acceptance after having their first child. I think everyone is of the notion that they are one of the lucky few who will not get stretch marks or not gain an extra jiggle. I want to remain healthy and keep my body within control. When I was first told that I might have PCOS, the doctor told me that I would probably gain around 80 pounds with my first pregnancy if I did not keep myself in check. I've looked, and there is not anywhere on my body that I want 80 pounds to go! I hope to remain healthy and as fit as I deem necessary.

What are your goals for 2015?

Thanks for stopping by!
